« Particle theory of light The first theory showing the particle aspect of the light was made by the fabulous physicist Isaac Newton in the 17th century when he used the failure of the wave theory to prove that light is made of particles.

In 1905, Einstein introduced his theory of light with the quanta of energy called the photon.

He achieved to explain different effect with this theory. Then Louis de Broglie linked the particle and waves 20 years after Einstein.

His theory was confirmed by many experiments. The energy and the amount of movement of an electromagnetic wave are equal to an integer time the energy of an individual photon.

So when photons crash on an object, it’s transfers an amount of movement, and the object can move. So, Stephen Hawking, one of the most influent physicist of the last century, had an idea using this system.

He wanted to create a spaceship powered by a solar sails bombarded by laser sent from the earth. Interference of young: We observe that when we send photons one by one, we see at the end the multiples impact of photons.

So, we send a particle and at the end there is still a particle. We can detect the individual photons with a quantic detector. Laser: Laser works by simulating an atom to emit photon.

We boost them to a higher orbit, then it discharges the energy by generating photons when returning to its original orbit.

So all the photons of the light go in the same direction: it’s the coherence. Bose-einstein state: Scientists achieved to generate a new state of the light : a Bose Einstein condensate.

They created a super photon made of many thousands of individual.... »
