« How to get rid of plastic ? Good afternoon everyone, I’m going to present you a speech about plastic pollution. First and foremost, plastic was synthesized in 1907 by Leo Baekeland in New York.

Very soon, due to the low production costs, plastic objects were cheap and therefore all organisations made huge profits.

Today, 460 million tonnes of plastic are produced in only one year and it keeps on increasing every year.

Plastic is mainly used for single uses, which represents a large amount of the world's plastic wastes. Besides, the accumulation of plastic waste has created a vortex of waste in the pacific ocean called the Seventh Continent which is made up of about 1 trillion pieces of waste.

Similarly, the biodiversity is being destroyed such as fish, sea turtles or even coral reefs who are dying because of plastic waste. As far as solutions are concerned about plastic waste, it's currently impossible to totally get rid of it now, but we can reduce plastic pollution by stopping using plastic.
