« Hello, today we go to talk about an exeptinal woman : Mary seacole, born the 23 november of 1805 on Jamaica and died the 14 may of 1881.

She were explorer, nurse and businesswoman.

She lived in a era where women, and even less black women, had bad recognition in these domains.

Mary seacole knew how to overcome the obstacles.

She is principaly known by her role during the Crima war, in the middle on the 19 centery, because she treated injured soldiers in battle field.

Her history were printed by her perseverance, her courage, and her innovation, what make her a inspire woman still today. Mary Seacole traveled a lot during her life.

She explored not only Jamaica, but she also visited Panama, England, and Crimea.

Her main objective were always the same : helped sick people. In Crimea, after she were refused by the britanic gorvement and by Florence Nightgale, she did not get dicpuraged.

With her economics, she founded the British Hotel, a place that served at the same times to a hospital and a center of suplies for soldiers.

Contrary of the traditional hospitals, Mary Sacole went on the battlefield to gave treatment. She also used remedies from traditional jamaican medecine, combine with her european knowledge.

This mix of medical culture permited to help a lot of soldiers who can’t have traditionals treatment.
